Roadable aircraft Grand Prix Rally
Our members have launched the idea of organizing a European Grand Prix Competition for roadable aircraft (aka flying car). Because there are big differences in the technology used by the manufacturers, we believe there should be a competition per model or class of models. The races would of course have a driving part and a flight part. The weather plays an important role for these aircraft, for safety reasons, so it is maybe not possible to plan the races exactly on a given date. Unless we design the race tracks in a way that allows the pilots to chose whether to finish the track only over road or as well by air. We should analyse how filming is done with drones during drone competitions, like the World Drone Prix in Dubai. We plan to organize the first races in 2018, if we manage to get all the necessary authorizations on time: ERAP2018 (European Roadable Aircraft Prix 2018).
There will be 2 different competitions, depending on the type of vehicle.
ERAP Rally: this is the competition for All Terrain vehicles (like SkyRunner, Vaylon Pégase, Maverick, etc). The first races in this competition will be organized in Greece.
ERAP Formula: on F1-style race tracks (for AeroMobil, Samson Switchblade, Transition, CaraVellair, etc).
